Donald Trump’s former physician, Ronny Jackson, has disclosed how close the ex-president came to death during an assassination attempt that occurred at a rally in Pennsylvania. In a recent memo, Jackson revealed that the bullet from the attack missed Trump’s head by a mere quarter of an inch.
The attack, which took place during a campaign rally, left Trump with a gunshot wound on the upper part of his right ear. The incident also resulted in injuries to two other individuals and the death of one attendee. Jackson, who is now a Texas lawmaker, detailed the severity of the wound in his memo, stating, “The bullet passed, coming less than a quarter of an inch from entering his head, and struck the top of his right ear.”
Jackson, who has been responsible for treating Trump’s injury, noted that the wound was about 2 centimeters wide and had damaged the cartilage in the ear. Despite the initial bleeding and swelling, Jackson reported that the wound was starting to heal naturally, with no stitches required. The bandage around Trump’s ear was intended to control minor bleeding.
Following the attack, Trump underwent a CT scan to assess the damage, and Jackson mentioned that Trump would be tested for hearing in the near future. Jackson, a former Navy rear admiral and White House physician under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, has previously been in the spotlight for his controversial remarks, including praising Trump’s “great genes” and making statements about Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities.
