Helicopter Crash in Nepal's Nuwakot District Claims Five Lives

A tragic helicopter crash occurred in the Nuwakot district of Nepal on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the death of all five individuals on board. The incident involved an Air Dynasty helicopter, which went down in the Shivpuri area while en route from Kathmandu to Syaphrubensi.

The helicopter, piloted by senior captain Arun Malla, lost contact with ground staff just three minutes after taking off. The aircraft, which had departed Kathmandu at 1:54 pm, went off the radar around 1:57 pm after reaching Surya Chaur. The five victims included four Chinese nationals and the pilot. The Chinese passengers were reportedly heading to Rasuwa.

Rescue operations were immediately launched, with a Prabhu helicopter (9N-ANL) dispatched to the crash site. Unfortunately, all five occupants, including the pilot, were confirmed dead at the scene. The crash site, located in the Suryachaur area northwest of Kathmandu, was accessed by rescuers who recovered the bodies of two men, one woman, and the pilot. One body remains unidentified due to severe charring.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Shantiraj Koirala from the District Police Office, Nuwakot, confirmed the recovery of the five bodies. The crash raises concerns about air safety in Nepal, which has experienced several aviation incidents recently, including a plane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport on July 24 that resulted in 18 fatalities.
