A tragic plane crash occurred in Vinhedo, Brazil, on Friday, involving an ATR-72 aircraft operated by Voepass Linhas Areas. The plane, carrying 62 people, was en route from Cascavel, in the state of Parana, to Guarulhos in Sao Paulo when the incident happened.
Local TV station GloboNews reported that the aircraft went into free fall before crashing. Sao Paulo’s state fire brigade confirmed the crash on social media and dispatched seven crews to the accident site. The aircraft was seen plummeting into a cluster of trees, with a large plume of black smoke rising from the wreckage, as captured in videos shared online.
