A tragic car accident in Lampass County, Texas, has claimed the lives of an Indian-origin couple and their daughter, leaving their 14-year-old son as the sole survivor. Arvind Mani, 45, his wife Pradeepa Arvind, 40, and their 17-year-old daughter Andril Arvind were killed in the crash early Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred around 5:45 a.m. when the family’s vehicle was struck by another car, which then caught fire. The impact was so severe that police described it as “one of the worst crashes” they have witnessed in 26 years, attributing the fatalities to the catastrophic damage sustained.
According to local media reports, Arvind and Pradeepa were on their way to North Texas to drop off their daughter Andril at the University of Dallas, where she was set to study computer science after recently graduating from high school. The couple’s 14-year-old son, Adiryan, was not in the vehicle at the time of the accident and is now the lone survivor of the family.
The collision also resulted in the death of the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash. Police suspect that this driver was traveling at an estimated speed of 160 km/h, which contributed to the devastating impact. The Arvind family’s car was reportedly traveling at approximately 112 km/h at the time of the collision, making the crash equivalent to “driving into a concrete wall at 270 km/h,” according to authorities.
In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe page titled “Support for Adiryan Arvind: A Tragic Loss and a Young Life to Rebuild” has been set up to support the grieving teen. The campaign has already raised over $700,000 to aid Adiryan during this difficult time.
Arvind Mani and Pradeepa Arvind were described as a devoted couple with a bright future planned for their children. Their sudden and tragic loss has left a significant void in their community and in the life of their surviving son.
