“In Response to Elon Musk’s Call, MrBeast Uploads Video on X, Achieves 27 Million Views”

"MrBeast Heeds Elon Musk's Call, Posts First Video on X with 27 Million Views"

In response to Elon Musk’s request, popular YouTuber MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, posted his first video directly on Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform X. The video, titled “$1 vs $100,000,000 Car,” garnered an impressive 27 million views within seven hours of being uploaded.

Elon Musk had urged MrBeast to share his content on the X platform, and MrBeast took on the challenge, breaking his previous stance where he stated that his videos, which cost millions to produce, would not be financially viable on X due to funding constraints.

Sharing the video on X, MrBeast mentioned in the description, “I’m curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make so I’m reuploading this to test it. Will share ad rev next week.” Elon Musk, pleased with the development, reshared MrBeast’s post, expressing his delight by stating, “First MrBeast video posted directly on X!”

Linda Yaccarino, the Chief Executive Officer of X, also acknowledged the milestone, stating, “First time and directly on X!” The post has since generated numerous reactions on the platform, with users celebrating the arrival of renowned content creators like MrBeast on X.

Commenters on the platform expressed their excitement, calling it a “major game-changer” and commending the video as a “cool experiment.” Some noted the shift in MrBeast’s content approach, from wholesome and apolitical to more aggressive social engineering.

In contrast to YouTube’s monetization criteria, which requires 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of viewing in the previous year, X users must subscribe to Premium or Premium+ memberships, costing $8 and $16 per month, respectively, to be eligible for a share of Twitter’s advertising revenue.

MrBeast, known for his philanthropy and attention-grabbing challenges, achieved significant financial success in 2021, earning $54 million and holding the title of YouTube’s highest-paid content creator. Despite being active on YouTube since 2012, MrBeast gained widespread recognition in 2018 for his generous financial contributions to lesser-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers. His move to X represents a new chapter in the evolving landscape of online content distribution.
