As preparations intensify for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have implemented robust security measures. Among the most notable is the declaration of all pilgrimage routes as ‘No-Fly Zones’ from July 1 to August 10 to prevent aerial threats during the sacred journey.
Ban on Drones and Flying Devices Issued
The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has officially banned the use of drones, balloons, paragliders, and other aerial vehicles along the pilgrimage routes. This action follows a security directive from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, aimed at strengthening protective measures amid terror threat alerts.
Operation Shiva: Ground-Level Security Reinforced
To provide 360-degree protection, security forces have initiated ‘Operation Shiva’, a dedicated yatra safety operation. This includes real-time surveillance, troop deployment, and route monitoring to ensure the safety of pilgrims throughout the trek to the Amarnath cave shrine.
Devotional Trek Begins July 3 with Safety Protocols
The spiritual journey will officially begin on July 3 and conclude on August 10, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan. Pilgrims will traverse the challenging mountain routes of Baltal and Pahalgam, both guarded by multi-layered security setups.
Mandatory Registration and Health Clearance
This year, all pilgrims must undergo compulsory registration and medical screening before participating in the yatra. Authorities have set up multiple health camps, emergency response units, and help desks along the way to support travelers in case of medical or logistical issues.
Balance of Devotion and Security
With an emphasis on both faith and safety, the administration is taking no chances in delivering a smooth pilgrimage experience. The advanced security apparatus, combined with traditional devotion, ensures that Amarnath Yatra 2025 will be both sacred and secure for every devotee.
