In a shocking incident that has captivated social media, two highly venomous Wall’s krait snakes were discovered intertwined under a family’s bed in India, leading to a dramatic rescue operation. The startling event unfolded on Monday night when an SOS call was made to local wildlife authorities.
Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan shared the now-viral video, showcasing the snakes locked in a twisting, mesmerizing display. “One of our beat staff got an SOS call late last night from a village. Imagine these highly venomous Wall’s kraits locked in a duel inside someone’s bedroom,” Kaswan posted on X (formerly Twitter).
As the snakes twisted and danced beneath the bed, onlookers gathered outside the house, recording the surreal scene on their phones. The video quickly gained traction online, amassing over 36,000 views and 600 likes within just two hours.
Viewers reacted with a mix of awe and concern, praising the rescue team for their quick action in ensuring the safety of both the villagers and the snakes. One user expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you to the entire team for the safe release of this beautiful innocent creature. Always feel proud of the animal welfare team.” Another user humorously compared the incident to a scene from a Bollywood film, remarking, “Looks like Bollywood naag and naagin stuff.”
The Wall’s krait, or Bungarus walli, is a highly venomous species commonly found in northern India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. Named after British herpetologist Frank Wall, this snake is known for its striking appearance and potent venom.
Kaswan, who boasts over 472,000 followers on X, often shares fascinating videos of reptiles and wildlife, raising awareness about the importance of coexistence between humans and nature.
This incident serves as a reminder of the surprising encounters that can occur in rural areas and the vital role of wildlife rescue teams in managing such situations.
