Her mysterious disappearance has prompted New York State Police to issue an Amber Alert, urging the public’s help in locating the missing child. The incident occurred while Charlotte was camping with family and friends at Moreau Lake State Park. On that fateful evening, she went on a bike ride around the campgrounds in the company of her friends. After several loops with her friends, Charlotte embarked on a solitary bike ride and, inexplicably, vanished without a trace. Worried for her safety, her parents contacted the police approximately 15 minutes after she failed to return from her bike ride.
New York State Governor Kathy Hochul expressed her concern for the missing child on Twitter, stating, “Yesterday, 9-year-old Charlotte Sena went missing in Moreau State Park. For more than 18 hours, teams from @nyspolice, @NYstateparks Police, Forest Rangers, UAS, and URT have been searching the grounds. My heart is with Charlotte’s family and loved ones as the search continues.”
Authorities have voiced their suspicion that Charlotte may have been abducted. According to police reports, Charlotte stands at 4 feet 6 inches and weighs approximately 90 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a pink and orange tie-dye Pokémon shirt along with dark blue pants.
