Former President Donald Trump has made a significant shift in his stance regarding the possible banning of TikTok in the United States. Previously supporting the idea of banning the popular social media platform during his presidency, Trump now firmly opposes such actions.
This change in perspective was highlighted in a conversation with conservative activist Charlie Kirk, as reported by The New York Post. Trump, who recently joined TikTok himself, expressed his complete support for the app, stating, “I will never ban TikTok.”
The shift in Trump’s position comes in the midst of ongoing discussions about the future of TikTok in the US. In April, President Joe Biden approved a bill requiring ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, to sell the platform by mid-January or face a potential ban. This decision sparked criticism from Republicans concerned about national security implications.
During his conversation with Kirk, Trump also emphasized his message to young voters, urging them to support his agenda to make the country “greater than ever before.” He criticized President Biden’s leadership, labeling him as “the worst president in history” and referencing unspecified events during Biden’s visit to France.
