Three Injured After Rocket Barrage from Lebanon Hits Israel

In a dramatic escalation of violence, three individuals were injured following a rocket barrage launched from southern Lebanon that struck northern Israel. The incident occurred when Hezbollah militants fired a series of 90 rockets into Israel, targeting towns in the Krayot area near Haifa and the Galilee region.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that approximately 80 projectiles were launched in a span of five minutes, with most of the rockets being intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system. However, some rockets managed to bypass the defense system, landing in various locations across the region. According to the IDF, two explosive drones from Lebanon were also intercepted in the Galilee area.

Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service reported that the attacks, which hit at least nine locations, left three individuals injured. Among the victims was a 17-year-old boy, a 52-year-old man, and a 75-year-old man. Additionally, another man was hurt while rushing to a shelter for safety.

The ongoing rocket barrage caused significant damage across the affected areas. Rockets set fire to several vehicles, with one projectile striking an apartment building and another hitting a bus stop. Authorities noted that the damage was extensive but largely concentrated in open fields and less populated areas.

Throughout the day, Hezbollah fired around 175 rockets at northern Israel, according to the IDF, marking an increase in the intensity of the cross-border conflict. In response, the Israeli military launched airstrikes targeting a rocket launcher in southern Lebanon, with a focus on neutralizing the militant group’s capabilities.

The escalation comes amid rising tensions along Israel’s northern border, with both sides exchanging fire. Hezbollah’s actions appear to be in retaliation for earlier Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. The Israeli government has condemned the rocket attacks, and the IDF has vowed to take further action to defend Israeli citizens and prevent future incursions.

Authorities in both Israel and Lebanon have urged restraint, though the situation remains tense, with no immediate resolution in sight. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, as calls for de-escalation intensify.
