PM Modi Arrives in US for 3-Day Visit: Bilateral Talks with Joe Biden, Quad Summit, and Key Deals Expected

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in the United States for a significant three-day visit aimed at bolstering India-US relations and strengthening strategic partnerships. The visit will begin with a high-level bilateral meeting between PM Modi and US President Joe Biden, where key issues related to defense, trade, and technology are expected to be discussed.

One of the most anticipated topics on the agenda is India’s acquisition of 31 predator drones in a multi-billion dollar defense deal with the United States. This agreement is expected to enhance India’s military capabilities and further solidify defense ties between the two nations.

In addition to defense, the leaders will likely explore further cooperation in space. An announcement on the India-US space collaboration is expected, which includes Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s upcoming journey to the International Space Station as part of the Axiom-4 mission.

Following the bilateral talks, PM Modi will participate in the strategic Quad summit alongside President Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The group is expected to address regional security, with particular attention on China’s influence and aggressive military activities. John Kirby, White House spokesperson, emphasized that China’s military actions and unfair trade practices will be key topics of discussion, including rising tensions over the Taiwan Strait.

PM Modi’s US visit will also include attending the “Summit of the Future” at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where global leaders will discuss pressing international issues.

This trip is being viewed as crucial for reinforcing India’s strategic partnerships in defense, space, and trade, while addressing broader geopolitical concerns in the Indo-Pacific region.
