In an overnight assault, Russian drones targeted Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv, resulting in six fatalities and injuring at least 10 individuals, as confirmed by national emergency services and the city’s mayor on Saturday.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine communicated via Telegram about the tragic outcome of the enemy strike, stating that six people lost their lives, with at least 10 others sustaining injuries.

Kharkiv’s mayor, Igor Terekhov, corroborated the death toll and injury count in his own Telegram post, specifying that the attack concentrated on Shevchenkivskyi, a northern sector of the city.

Terekhov further detailed that the assault involved Iranian-manufactured drones, impacting nine high-rise buildings, three dormitories, and a petrol station within the area.

Oleg Synegubov, governor of the region, previously mentioned that two individuals were killed in Shevchenkivskyi. Subsequently, police affirmed these casualties, noting that eight others were hospitalized due to blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. Among the injured were women aged 25 and 52, along with men aged 23 to 76.

Fortunately, there were no reported casualties in a separate attack on Mala Danylivka, a village situated on the northwest outskirts of Kharkiv.

Photos shared by police on Telegram depicted multiple fires raging in civilian zones, including near a high-rise residential complex. Authorities highlighted significant damage to various structures, including residential buildings and a fuel station.
